After my first son was born my body felt so loose, I was afraid to start working out in any capacity. A year post-partum and without a regular workout routine, I decided to try the “After Baby Pilates” classes with Erica at Honey and I loved it so much I began working with her privately on a weekly basis and during my second pregnancy. Through weekly sessions, she coached me through exercises that were both safe and effective. What I have learned in my sessions with Erica has been so helpful in my day-to-day life. I have learned how to use my body better on walks, and even just hanging around in the house. I thought that my loss of abdominal strength so long after childbirth might be a permanent situation, but after seeing Erica once per week for just a few weeks, I saw huge improvements and now feel so much better and so much stronger. At my 6 week checkup after having my twins I mentioned to my Doctor I had been having a lot of back pain/spasms and an overall feeling of weakness and instability in my core. I was told there was nothing wrong, to return to my normal routine exercise and it would most likely get better over time. I attempted to ease back into my normal Pilates practice but always felt uncomfortable doing things I had done for over 6 years before getting pregnant. At about 8 months postpartum I called my Doctor because I watched how to test for diastasis recti and I was certain I had it. I called my Doctor to ask for physical therapy and was instead given a referral to a surgeon. This is when I decided to take matters into my own hands and found Erica.
